To secure its future, an organization must continuously work to build relationships with individuals and groups that can contribute to its success.  Advancement is critical for any organization, but what happens after that initial connection is made?  It's Member Advocacy time!  This phase of the relationship-building process is where organizations need to focus, deepening the connection and engaging our members.  The Member Advocacy Work Group has made a lot of changes over the last few months.  We have elected new leadership, we have changed our focus, changed our mission, and we have even changed our name.

There’s a quote by Robert Louis Stevenson that says, “Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds that you plant.” This quote has always had a special meaning from growing up on a small tobacco farm. One of the lessons I learned from that experience was that of understanding that in order to have a harvest, one must endure the planting season. As I reflect on the 10-year anniversary of the Coalition, I am reminded of the planting season we (founder Seth Buechley, Mike Collado & a few others) went through to get us to where we are today. The impact that has been accomplished by so many people coming together over the last ten years has produced what we would call in the farming world, a bountiful harvest. So, let’s take a stroll down memory lane and then set our sights on the future…

Should Jurisdictions adopt Third Party Testing Rules for ERCES?

Some ERCES stakeholders have a indicated a concern about companies who perform in-building radio signal strength assessment testing to determine whether or not a building needs an ERCES system, and who then provides a quote to design and install a system if the building fails. It has been suggested that this is a conflict of interest.

Communications Electronics is a family-owned wireless communications company dedicated to the communities near and far. We are grateful to have the opportunity to provide support to an organization like SOZO Children who is on the front lines of bringing hope to children in one of the world’s most impoverished areas. SOZO was founded in 2010 out of an urgent need to care for neglected children in a community in Uganda.
