Group B International Fire Code HearingsSafer Buildings Coalition is excited to announce that Executive Director, Chief Alan Perdue, will be attending this year’s Group B International Fire Code Hearings. Chief Perdue has proven to be a key voice for in-building public safety communications, and has had much success in facilitating discussion and change among Public Safety and Wireless Communications leaders. Following the 2015 Safer Buildings Code Meeting in Chicago, where representatives for AHJ’s, equipment manufacturers, systems integrators, carriers, REIT’s and building developers gathered to participate in meaningful dialogue, SBC submitted formal proposals to the ICC and now awaits discussion and fire code committee action at the 2016 Group B International Fire Code Hearings.

The schedule for the upcoming 2016 Group B International Fire Code Hearings is now available for download here. The Committee Action Hearings will take place April 17-27, 2016 in Louisville, KY.

The Group B International Codes include administrative provisions for all codes, the structural chapters in the International Building and Existing Building Codes, the building and energy chapters in the International Residential Code, and all chapters in the International Fire, Energy Conservation Code and Wildland-Urban Interface Codes. As a leader in code change development, Safer Buildings Coalition is excited at the opportunity to participate in the Group B International Fire Code Hearings coming up in April.
