SBC’s 2024 Seminar series will visit 27 cities, beginning with Miami on January 31, 2024. In round one, SBC filled 168 of available 216 sponsorship slots, with 48 remaining open. SBC Seminars are a fantastic opportunity to learn the latest in ERCES codes, standards, technologies, trends, and are a wonderful networking experience for all who attend.

Under a newly created policy, 17 slots will remain open in select cities until 60 days prior to these dates to make sure opportunities will exist for new members who join in 2024. Existing members will then have a second option to pick these slots.

New Seminar Policies

As was announced in November’s Newsletter, sponsorship rules have been changed to open up more opportunities for our members to participate in our program.

An additional policy we are establishing this year is to reserve some seminar sponsorship slots until later in the year. Looking at the Seminar List, some Table-Top sponsorship slots are "Reserved" until 60 days prior to the event. This is to save space for new members and others who were not able to participate in Round One selections.

ADVANCE reservations for these slots cannot be accepted. New members in 2024 will have first option on these dates.

SBC First: Bringing the ERCES to the Aloha State

We will be re-visiting all the ERCES hotspots in 2024, such as two dates each in Florida, Texas, and California. But an essential part of the SBC mission is to bring the message to new jurisdictions. Last year, we visited emerging ERCES areas of Upstate NY, Omaha, NE, Cincinnati, OH, and Vancouver, BC in Canada.

In 2022, we visited the emerging ERCES areas of Kansas City MO, Oklahoma City OK, Boise ID, and Toronto, ON in Canada. Based on reports of project backlogs, a lack of clarity around requirements, and member requests, we will be bringing our seminar series to Honolulu, HI on October 2nd.

Sponsorship space is still available there, as this will be a don’t-miss opportunity to open a dialogue with an important new group of stakeholders.
