Although most Legislatures are on summer break, the Government Affairs Work Group is closely monitoring activities in a number of states:
 
Florida
Legislative weeks coming up, will give an idea of possible bills for 2024 session
Renewed interest from AHJs for ERCES knowledge, possible education opportunities and how NICET qualifications can assist
Planning a stakeholder call with AFAA FL for possible topics and continuation of Lobbyist efforts for 2024 sessions.
 
Michigan
Monitoring several bills HB4091 and HB-5561 around school requirements

Texas
Adopting the 2023 National Electric Code (NEC) September 1st with no amendments

California
Monitoring NAPA County – ban on use of ERCES
 
On National front 
Work Group forming for FCC Petition- will be part of SBC Strategy, Need for National Tracking of BDA Installations and Installation best practices. Anyone interested in contributing can contact Jim Loftus or John Foley.
