Dear Safer Buildings Coalition Members,

As my term as President of the Safer Buildings Coalition (SBC) Board comes to an end, I want to express my heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you for entrusting me with this responsibility. I also want to extend a warm welcome to our incoming President, David Adams. While my term as President has come to an end, my dedication to the success of SBC remains steadfast, and I am excited about the future of our organization.

As I reflect on the incredible year we've had together, I am filled with pride thinking about the remarkable milestones we have accomplished over the past year that have brought us closer to our mission of eliminating wireless dead zones and enhancing in-building public safety communications. Two of these milestones stand out as sources of immense pride for me, as they are poised to shape the trajectory of our future.

  1. First-ever ERCES Handbook: One of the most notable milestones achieved this year is the successful completion and publication of the Complete ERCES Handbook with NICET In-Building Public Safety Communications Study Guide. This handbook not only enhances the competence of professionals within our industry but also solidifies SBC's position as a leading authority in the realm of In-building Public Safety Communications (IB-PSC), positioning SBC as a pivotal resource for industry expertise and knowledge.
  2. Wireless Tech and Policy Summit: Our inaugural Wireless Tech and Policy Summit, held in Washington, DC, successfully united industry experts and government officials, fostering invaluable dialogues, knowledge-sharing, and collaborative advocacy efforts. This summit provided a unique platform for impactful industry-government collaboration that not only strengthens our collective resolve but also bolsters our ability to drive positive change within the wireless industry and ensure the safety of building occupants.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the SBC staff, members, directors of the board, and everyone who contributed to these accomplishments. Our accomplishments over the past year are a testament to what we can achieve when we work together towards a common goal.

As I step down from the role of President, I am confident that the organization is in capable hands with David Adams at the helm. David's expertise and leadership will undoubtedly guide us toward even greater achievements in the future. In my new role as Immediate Past President, I will continue to offer my full support to him and the entire SBC team.

I also extend a warm welcome to our new board members, Scott McClure, Shelley DePuy, and John Thompson. Their fresh perspectives and industry knowledge will be invaluable as we continue to pursue our mission.

Thank you for your continued support and dedication to the SBC mission.
