SBC Expands Board – More Opportunity to Lead

The 2022 election for the Safer Buildings Coalition Board of Directors is coming up. As always, we strongly encourage our members to vote in this election -- and to consider putting your name on the 2022 ballot and help the Coalition continue to make a difference.

Electing this year:

  • Vice President – Term: 1 year
  • At Large Director [Elect Even Years] – Term: 2 years

Nominations:

  • Accepted between June 28 & July 15 @ 5PM PDT

How to vote:

  • The election will be conducted by electronic ballot between July 15th and August 15th

How to run
Interested in throwing your hat in the ring for one of the three open positions? 

Members interested in running for the Board are asked to provide:

  • The position for which you are running
  • Your current resume
  • Indication that your organization authorizes you to run for and hold an SBC Board seat

Why you should run
The overarching reasons is that you believe in and support the mission.

The importance to the Safer Buildings Coalition is that this provides objective, third-party oversight to ensure proper governance and afford strategic guidance to the future of the SBC mission.

  • You can learn to perfect the art of persuasion.

Many Changes coming to the current SBC Board:

  • Current SBC Board VP Prince Niyyar of Commdex will become President of the Board.
  • Current SBC Board President Dennis Burns of ADRF will step into the role of Immediate Past President. Thank you for your service, Dennis!
  • Current SBC Immediate Past President Eric Toenjes of Graybar will retire from the Board after several years of dedicated leadership and service. Thank you Eric!
  • Current At-Large Office (Elected Even Year) Scott Umemoto of Day Wireless has fulfilled his term on the Board. Thank you Scott!
