Codes and Standards Work Group April 2022 Update

During the past month, the Safer Buildings Coalition Codes & Standards Work Group continued to provide input on code issues as well as move forward other projects.

SBS provided input to the National Fire protection Association (NFPA) to change NFPA 170, the “Standard for Fire Safety and Emergency Symbols”, to include defined symbols for ERCES inclusion.

Updates to the code reference card were discussed and sent to the workgroup for final inputs.

Regarding Florida, pending legislation provides for clarity when it comes to scope however low income housing is exempted.
