SBC Hosts 2022 Annual Member’s Meeting and Dinner at IWCE Las Vegas

The Safer Buildings Coalition hosted its annual Member’s Meeting and Dinner at IWCE on March 21st in Las Vegas. Around 100 attendees gathered together to celebrate a decade of impact as Safer Buildings Coalition approaches it’s 10-year anniversary date on May 16th, 2022.

The evening featured presentations by SBC’s executive team and SBC Work Group Chairs. SBC Board President Dennis Burns thanked Board members Prince Niyyar, Richard Roberts, Ron Schachter, David Adams, Scott Umemoto, and Eric Toenjes for their ongoing contributions. Board member elections are scheduled for this summer.

Highlights of the event included:

  • Chief Jeff Johnson (Ret.)Keynote Address by Chief Jeff Johnson (Ret.), President of Western Fire Chiefs Association and Former FirstNet Vice Chair. Key note topic: The Future of Public Safety Communications.
  • SBC’s Operation Manager, Nancy HoppeRecognition of SBC’s Operation Manager, Nancy Hoppe, for her excellence and dedication to the mission as she transitions to retirement this year.
  • An update from Charlie Fleetham, Founder and President of Project Innovations, and No Noise Task Force (NNTF) Program Coach on SBC’s mission to become the one source of ERCES truth.
  • SBC Executive Director, Chief Alan PerdueKeynote Address by SBC Executive Director, Chief Alan Perdue on “A Decade of Impact”.
  • Presentation by SBC Board Member, Eric Toenjes on the premiere of the SBC/Graybar Digital Showcase Theater in the IWCE Exhibit Hall. This showcase featured well attended presentations by FirstNet, Built with AT&T, RFS, ADRF, PCTEL, RF Industries, Westell, Graybar, Safer Buildings.
  • SBC Founder, Seth BuechleyKeynote Address by SBC Founder, Seth Buechley on “The Future of In-Building”.
