D Day

With Immense Gratitude

It is with immense gratitude that the Safer Buildings Coalition observes the 77th anniversary of World War II’s D-Day commemorating the largest invasion by air, land and sea in history.  We observe D-Day in the U.S. in memory of the Normandy landings in France on June 6, 1944, in which American soldiers and other Allied forces fought to end World War II in Europe.  The invasion continued through August 30, 1944 (2 months, 3 weeks and 3 days) and is one of history’s most significant military attacks.  We pay tribute to the thousands of soldiers who lost their lives and the ones who made it across Europe to end the war.
