SBC adds your voice to this very important federation

It's official: The Safer Buildings Coalition has joined the National Public Safety Telecommunications Council (NPSTC) as an affiliate member. NPSTC Chair, Ralph Haller and SBC Managing Director John Foley signed a Memorandum of Understanding on June 1, 2020. With the agreement in place, NPSTC and the Safer Buildings Coalition will work together to support the development of attributes of wireless technologies for public safety communications inside of buildings.

"Communications inside of buildings is critical for public safety and we look forward to working with the Safer Buildings Coalition to provide the best communications possible," Ralph Haller said.

"The ability to communicate inside buildings is at the focal point of our core mission for both the public and public safety. It is vital for the safety of our first responders that they have and maintain reliable communications capabilities at all times while operating inside buildings. Our Collaboration with NPSTC will bring resources and attention to this critical need, and we are excited to be working together to help protect the men and women who protect us on a daily basis," SBC Executive Director, Chief Alan Perdue (Ret.) added.

This relationship firmly establishes the Safer Buildings Coalition as a thought leader and amplifies SBC’s voice and message as we work to represent our members.

"As a result of this MOU, members of the Safer Buildings Coalition and the National Public Safety Telecommunications Council will have unprecedented access to the thought leadership both entities offer. The partnership will improve knowledge-sharing among experts in the field, contributing to the mission of both organizations while leading to better overall outcomes for public safety. The memorandum of understanding between the SBC and NPSTC represents a terrific step forward for public safety communications," notes Brandon Allen, Manager, Government Relations at the International Association of Fire Chiefs.
