In this Executive Discussion featuring three separate presentations we explore the problem of poor connectivity and communications inside buildings that pose a serious threat to life and property, especially during an emergency.

We will hear directly from identical twin brothers Detective Casey Clarkson and Lt. Brandon Clarkson of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department who were both active participants in the 1 October Mass Casualty Incident at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas – one managing communications at the 911 center, and one wounded on the concert grounds – and how communications problems made this an even more challenging situation. This deeply moving presentation includes body camera videos and radio transmissions for that fateful day.

Industry thought leader Chief Alan Perdue and a panel of Industry Experts will examine the efforts needed to create a massive change across several industries, including architecture, building design and engineering, construction, fire rating and code management, electrical operation and wiring, and building ownership. All of these come together to create a truly connected building.

Finally, we will hear a panel of Public Safety and Technology Leaders from three Major Universities discuss the approaches and solutions to providing for large campus environments that include stadiums, arenas, classrooms, and a large student population
