SBC 2025 Seminar Planning — What Happens Next?

Planning for the 2025 Safer Buildings Coalition Seminar season is underway, and paying SBC members soon will have the opportunity to suggest seminar locations and choose sponsorship slots for next year.  

'25 looks to be one of our most ambitious years ever. We encourage our members to get involved by sponsoring and attending events as we take our mission on the road once again.

Here's what happens next.

TIMELINE 

10/2 to 10/9/24: Contact info verification: Each paid SBC member will receive an email asking you to provide us with your preferred contacts for SBC-related information, as well as a list of organization members you would like to include in our system. You will have a week to reply.
10/10 to 10/17/24: Suggest Cities. Sent to your organization's primary and alternate points of contact. This is your opportunity to submit suggestions/preferences for '25 SBC seminar locations. 
10/28/24 to Mid Nov (exact dates TBD): Enter Final Sponsorship Choices. Enter up to 10 Speaking and/or Tabletop sponsorship choices per organization. Choose from preliminary list of '25 host cities - or write in your own requests. 
Mid November (exact dates TBD): Submittal window closes.
  • List of submitters and their city choices will be assembled and arranged by submitted date/time into a "draft pick" order, in a list called the Sponsor Roster.

  • Sponsor Roster will be utilized to complete the Seminar Schedule as follows:
    • "Schoolyard Pick" process:
      1. First submitted form gets their First Preference City
      2. Second submitted form gets their First Preference City, as long as it was not taken by previous picker. If first preference city is taken, then next city preference is selected, etc.
    • Once round one is complete, we go back to the top of the list and begin round two.
    • All subsequent picks follow the same format until all sponsor/city draft selections are complete

  • Seminar List with Confirmed Sponsors will be posted.
Late November/Early December (exact date TBD). Lock In Date: Sponsors must commit to their city picks by the Lock-In Date. Upon locking in, Sponsors will be invoiced and SBC will begin planning the 2025 Seminar venues, marketing and travel. After the Lock-In date, SBC may accept additional requests from members to hold seminars in additional cities. 

Round 2 will begin shortly after the conclusion of Round 1: An email will be sent to the Primary Contacts for each paid tier member company to provide link to submit bids for the remaining available cities. (some slots may be reserved to allow for new members joining throughout 2025.)
