On a state level, we continue to monitor the Florida Legislative session, watching for any addition of amendments for anything of interest to the SBC.
On a National level, we continue to monitor for any indication of any forth coming FCC announcements around the 4.9GHz spectrum and NG911 Legislation.

The 2024 installment of IWCE hits Orlando Fl, March 25-28. The Safer Buildings Coalition, as always, will be on site, with a strong educational program, a large, inviting booth on the Expo Floor and – of course – our ANNUAL RECEPTION, DINNER & MEETING. Check out what we have for you at IWCE 2024.

After the resounding success of SBC's inaugural 2023 Tech and Policy Summit in Washington DC last May, we are coming back with a great program to the same world-class venue — The National Housing Center in Downtown DC — on June 6th.

The Member Advocacy Work Group hosted a successful Safer Buildings Coalition Town Hall on January 24th. 

The Town Hall is now available on-demand.

The group is currently planning the next Town Hall and preparing for next month's IWCE event in Orlando.

The Coalition’s 2024 In-Building Public Safety Communications Seminar season is off to a fantastic start as Chief Alan Perdue and team hosted our largest-ever seminar audience at Fire Tower Miami on January 31st.
 
Almost 150 first responders, government officials, industry reps, et al packed the room for an engaging last day of January in the Sunshine State.

The Codes and Standard’s workgroup held its regularly scheduled meeting on February 2nd with 23 members in attendance. We welcomed three new members. Each sub-working group reported on their activities that have transpired since the last meeting.

Work continues on the NFPA 1225 TIA’s with plans to have them submitted by SBC sometime in March.
