Emergency Responders across the Nation: We Salute You

This week is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, the annual celebration of our first, first responders – the heroes who, literally, answer the call when we need help. This week, we salute and thank every 9-1-1 operator across the country who dedicates his/her life to serving the public every day.

The Safer Buildings Coalition would like to THANK YOU for all that you do - especially at this difficult time with emergency telecommunicators among the essential personnel out there risking their health and lives to keep us all safe.

“Approximately 240 million people dial 9-1-1 each year. The first point of contact for these emergency callers are the Nation’s professionally-trained public safety telecommunicators.” The dedicated men and women who stand ready 24 hours a day to answer calls reporting crisis provide a key component in the public safety framework. Additionally, they provide the direct connection between emergency medical services, fire and law enforcement responders in an effort to ensure that their fellow citizens receive the critical life-saving assistance they need. During National 9-1-1 Telecommunicators Week and, most importantly, throughout the year, the invaluable contributions you make to the overall emergency response system are greatly appreciated. Thank you for your selfless service and May God bless and keep each of you safe,” Chief Alan Perdue, Safer Buildings Coalition’s Executive Director, said.

Stay strong. Stay healthy.

Happy National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week!
