Safer Buildings Coalition’s 5-hour ERCES training is approved by the International Code Council (ICC) for 5 contact hours or 0.5 CEUs. During the seminar, request a Certificate of Attendance from SBC. Afterward, submit it to the ICC along with the specific course code listed on their website. Each seminar has a unique course code tied to its date and location. Visit the ICC site for full instructions on submitting CEUs.

SBC courses are routinely added to the ICC Preferred Provider Program schedule here.

APCO

Safer Buildings Coalition 5-hour training seminar qualifies for 5 APCO CDE. APCO members should request a Certificate of Attendance from SBC during the seminar, then upload it to their personal MyAPCO account.

Students should go to the APCO Training page and log into their personal APCO Account:

  • The hours can be uploaded to MyAPCO in Training Central > My Classes Taken > Add Continuing Education
  • When done correctly, the 5 hours will count towards their continuing education hours (ConEd Report).

About APCO CDEs

CDEs can be any trainings or activities completed within or outside of APCO that relate to public safety (CAD Trainings, PSC Magazines, Illuminations, Webinars, and activities outside of normal job duties, including attended trainings). The hours are calculated hour-for-hour. For example, if you attend a 4-hour training, it counts as 4 hours of CDE. For recertification, the CDEs must be started and completed within the student’s Year 1 and Year 2 certification time periods.
